I go back in time. What do I care. I cannot skip this place. It would be a sin, and Billy certainly wouldn’t forgive me. Old fan of thermal springs. How he went through the catharsis there folks. But first things first.<\/p>\n

We are in Italy. The thermal baths commonly known as Terme di Satrunia and Cascate di Mulino, as they are located near the old mill. Near the port of Civitavecchia. If you are taking a ferry somewhere from Italy, stop by.<\/p>\n

Naturally created baths filled with sulfuric waters that are said to have a healing effect on the skin. And they have their charm for the eye. Against the background of the industrial mill overlooking the green meadow, there are bathtubs made by the force of falling water. They have super sharp edges that injure the feet so slow down the walk in search of a free hole. Once you find it, the relaxation is outstanding. The water is pleasantly warm, not hot, bubbling beautifully and beating strongly on the back. Free, heated whirlpool.<\/p>\n

Everybody around chatters in Italian, or like Billy, with closed eyes, is indulging in the charm of water. We met two old guys from Merano (northern Italy), where we spent the lockdown time. In spite of their advanced age, they brilliantly threw themselves into the strong current of hot water and advertised this natural water slide as top class fun. Guess who fell for it and hurt a his back. Starts with B. There was also one little monella, which I found out means rascal in Italian. All the time I thought that her guardians were calling her a model. This would be an interesting educational model indeed. Moreover one of her two male guardians complained that the sulfur water had stripped color from his golden chain. Also beware. Spontaneous conversations easily arose in these jacuzzis, though Billy and I often knew very little about what we heard. But smiles and hot water nicely masked these shortcomings.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

We also recommend this place at night. Parking convenient and nearby, elegantly mowed grass. You have to get out of the van at night and see the other face of these thermal baths. Under the stars, few people, they all light candles. We are in. Something so urban and rural at the same time. Mysterious and obvious. And wet. And then black risotto with asparagus. Blue Lagoon Iceland can hide itself.<\/p>\n

I’ve been looking for Billy since the next morning. And he has been in bathtubs for 2 hours, under a whip, dreamy. I pulled him out of there almost by force. And the road to Civitavecchia was beautiful too.
